Since we last time, we have worked on cleaning up and perfecting the pieces we have made. First off, we remade some mold sides after iterative testing with lego pieces as well as looking at the interaction between our front and back piece which need to connect. We then nailed down parameters for the injection molder and lastly began production of our thermoformed pieces.

With regard to mold making, the following issues were resolved. We faced issues with our front piece cracking when being ejected from the IM. While we tried to resolve this by allowing it to cool longer, this caused the piece to shrink unexpectedly. Therefore, we remade the mold and got new parameters as to how to make this piece. The front piece now does not crack. We also adjusted the stud size so as to get a better fit with other yoyos and legos.

We also did lots of tests with both color schemes as well as general fits to ensure success before we begin production. While we initially had a green-red design, we decided to allow some uniqueness and will thus allow customizable yo-yos. We plan to make each piece but in different colors, so users can mix and match to get any color scheme among these. The colors we chose are blue, red, and green, sticking to the iconic Lego color scheme.
